Let me start this by saying that I am not new to paintball. I have been playing since the early 90’s and love the sport. Like most people I started by using Tippmann carbine, and then Tippmann 98 rental markers. I now play almost exclusively pump, but still wanted a semi-auto marker in my kit to either lend to friends, or take out when I felt like throwing some more paint than usual. That is why I bought this.

The Tippmann Gryphon has the same basic internal set up as the 98C, but costs half as much. It is not upgradeable however since the internals have just enough room to function, and the inside of the grip frame houses the gas line, so there is no room for things like an E-grip or other upgrades. It is an utterly reliable, lightweight, accurate, and stable paint chucker. It is a fantastic first gun, or if you’re like me and want an inexpensive loaner, well worth the price.

The grip feels comfortable, the feed neck is adjustable enough to hold wide or narrow loaders, and it feeds reliably. The trigger is light and crisp enough to get good rates of fire for a mechanical marker. I use a Proto Primo gravity feed loader, and could not out-shoot it.

If you want Tippmann reliability without the price of the 98 or the A5, this is a great marker.

This came in only a few days. When I got it I oiled it up, and went to use it. My cousins gun broke and it was his first time using it. It’s built very well and is sweet looking!!!
