85 oz is great if you’re using it to excavate for an in ground pool,
Okay, this is truly my fault for wanting the biggest and baddest scoop to use for my BBQ charcoals. I was searching for a scoop after taking me eons (5 minutes) to fill my charcoal grates with coals using primarily my hands and tongs. I came across the Steve Raichen ones which were double the price and at a third the size of this one. I figured scoops can’t be come that big so I ordered two. When it arrived, I was blown away by the sheer size and thought to myself, “man, what did I do???”. I think I can cradle my 30 month old son in it or he can use it as a snow sled. Just kidding it’s not that big but still. Don’t get me wrong, even though it’s big it’s still pretty light due to the fact that it’s made of Aluminum. I tested it out on the charcoal bin that came with my Weber Platinum Grill and thank goodness it fits in there. And better yet, I was able to fill the charcoal grate with only one scoop!!!! Yeah! Overall I am pretty happy with it just wished I had ordered something maybe a two thirds of the size, but at $8 bucks you can’t go wrong I guess. Now, I gotta figure out what to do with the second one……

|Great multi-purpose scoop,
I ordered this scoop to use to load wood pellets for my Quadrafire Castile pellet stove. Great handle, large capacity (extra large scoop), makes it much easier to load and reload the stove’s hopper. Overall, I am very pleased. I’d been looking for a scoop like this in stores for more than a year, amd found it almost accidentally on Amazon.

We use this as a charcoal scoop to move charcoal from a plastic storage bin to the grill. Our hands stay much cleaner.
