I just read the book last night and was unable to put it down. I’m in the public relations field, and I found this book to be just as informative as the tips I learned in college. Even though I’m not in the tourism department, I still was able to gain useful marketing tips to use in my future. I highly recommend this book for anyone marketing a product, or even a professor to use in the classroom.

Although I’ve been studying marketing for the last five years of having my own agri-tourism business (www.HomegrownMiniGolf.com), I kept feeling like I wasn’t up to speed on all the possibilities of using new technologies. This new book by Doug Motel fills the void quite nicely. He explains the mysteries of Facebook, Twitter, press releases, how to get the most possible out of having events. I can tell that he knows what he’s talking about because I’m a photo-retouching whiz, myself, and his chapter of tips about the power of images and how to create them was spot-on.
I’d have to say that there were several tips that alone were worth the price of the book. The book is also a very quick read-it gets right to the points. The one thing I missed was a way to prioritize marketing efforts–there were so many good ideas, I know I’ll never have time for them all.
